Is one of the senior members of the Firm and heads the Government
Contract Law Group. He is involved in all aspects of Federal Government
Contract Law and has regularly appeared before the various Boards of
Contract Appeals, The United States Court of Federal Claims and The
Government Accountability Office. He has a unique ability to find
solutions to client’s government contract issues, without the necessity
of litigation, but if litigation is required, he is a tenacious
advocate.
Howell, also has a life outside the office with his
wife, Gene, who is his paralegal. They are both avid golfers and are
ardent saltwater fishermen. They live quietly in Huntsville, Alabama
with their five cats and yellow lab rescued from a life on the streets.

Richard is a senior member of the firm and heads the Business Law Group,
where he has an active Litigation, Real Estate and Commercial
Transactions/Contracts practice. He represents several commercial real
estate developers who build and own hotels, restaurants and shopping
complexes.
As a former Air Force JAG officer and corporate General Counsel of major
Alabama corporations, Richard brings broad base knowledge and experience
to the benefit of his business clients. He firmly believes that
reasonable business people should settle their differences without
resorting to litigation, but realizes that cannot always occur. He also
believes that having a sense of humor is important in life and can be
helpful even while being a strong advocate for his clients.
Richard and his wife, Leslie, live in Madison, Alabama. They are both
sports fans and Richard enjoys playing golf. Their daughter, Kelsey,
lives in Atlanta.

Patrick Miller handles a wide variety of business and real estate
related lawsuits, and oversees all of the firm’s business litigation. In
addition to the commercial and real estate litigation that make up the
bulk of his cases, Patrick also assists with the preparation and trial
of government contract cases for the firm. A firm believer in the
adversarial system of justice, Patrick fights hard and ethically to
obtain the best results possible for his clients.
Patrick has successfully represented clients with commercial
construction cases, contractual disputes, franchise issues, disputes
over professional services, and in cases involving the hospitality
industries.
Real estate disputes comprise a significant aspect of Patrick’s
practice. Patrick represents builders, developers, and homeowners with
construction issues, subdivision disputes, contract cases, and other
matters arising out of real property. He also defends a broad range of
cases that arise under real estate title insurance policies on behalf of
both lenders and homeowners.

Timothy Pittman is the firm’s most senior associate. Before joining the
firm in 2005, he gained experience in the Tuscaloosa County Office of
the Public Defender. After his arrival, Timothy made a seamless
transition into the firm’s business litigation and government contracts
practice. Today, Timothy zealously represents individuals and businesses
at every level of state and federal court. He is experienced not only in
litigation, but also in real estate related transactions, alternative
dispute resolution, and federal administrative law. Timothy also
regularly engages in appellate advocacy on behalf of his clients with
great success. He is a resident of Huntsville, Alabama, and an active
member of the Huntsville / Madison County Bar Association.
